Customer ratings for HJC i70 Elim Helmet

I'm a big fan of HJC helmets as they offer 5 star safety ratings for excellent price points. With a change of bike I swapped from a HJC FG-ST Crono to this new i70 helmet and whilst I will keep it I'm not entirely satisfied with it. My issues are;

1. The matt black and orange finish marks, scuffs and scratches easily. This should have been a gloss finish, they seem more robust.

2. The visor does not seal as tight against the rubber gasket as my FG-ST did so I get a very little bit of air noise coming through at high speed when the visor is properly locked down. More so than my FG-ST.

3. Wind noise. This 15504437130068 is more noisy than my FG-ST. Not by much though. I think it's because this helmet sits slightly higher up my neck..

4. The ratchet buckle isn't great. It feels safe but the strap is not as wide as I'd like and it twists easily so a couple of times now I've fastened it then realised its twisted. I prefer double D ring.

5. This is gonna sound petty but the lining messes my hair up more than the FG-ST did. Hopefully it will improve as I break the padding in. Definitely getting really bad helmet hair when this is removed!

6. Fitting Sena headset was difficult and the unit sits away from the helmet but the speaker recesses are perfectly placed.

What's to like?

1. It's light.
2.. The colour schemes are good
3. Wide viewport
4. Pinlock anti fog.
5. Spectacle channels

I'll keep it for a year then change. I wish I had stuck to another FG-ST with a different colour scheme.

Ich habe den Helm nur kurz in Gebrauch gehabt, fand ihn sehr Lauf. Der Sonnen Schutz ist mir immer auf die Nase gefallen das war sehr störend, ich hab denn Helm zurück geschickt weil ich nach einer Stunde große Kopfschmerzen bekommen habe. Die allgemeine Verarbeitung war sehr in Ordnung.

Ich habe mich im Vorfeld bereits über diesen Helm informiert und kann nun auch bestätigen, daß die Windgeräusche wirklich merklich sind. Jedoch relativiert es sich bei mir, da ich generell mit Gehörschutz fahre (also ist dann bereits das meiste unterdrückt) und über 100 km/h komme ich auch selten hinaus. Für mich also der perfekte Helm. Visier rastet gut und schließt gut, Entriegelung auch mit Handschuhen sehr gut bedienbar und auch der Rest wirklich sehr wertig. Ich würde wenn es nötig wird, diesen Helm wieder kaufen.

This is by far my favourite helmet I’ve ever owned. It’s incredibly comfortable and provides superb visibility. The anti fog lense that comes with the helmet is also so handy in cold mornings. Vents are very good and the positioning of the drop down sun visor is perfect. Brilliant value for its price.

Very good easy to adjust chin strap and inner tinted visor very good.

There is no many actual reviews comparing I70 with IS17 from actual practical use. I70 is much better kit indeed. Significantly quieter, even lower drag (!?), good ventilation but different from IS17, comfy but snug fit, better visor mechanism sealing well, great vision horizontally and vertically, brilliant quality visor and pinlock included, marvelous sun visor - good color - is it polarized? - mechanism working superb, left side bottom knob for sun visor really well located doesn't interfere with comm kit at all, glasses prepared very well - it is easy to put on and off, glasses stay in place, speakers locations big enough and deep enough - nothing press or catch ears at all, overall comfy feeling from first minute with knowing I could ride all day, feeling light and smart. Extremely wide, unobstructed vision gives rider nice confident feeling.

Passform ist für mich wunderbar, sollte man aber unbedingt vorher testen
die Aerodynamik ist sehr gut...fahre ein naked und da passt trotzdem alles
die Windgeräusche sind mir etwas zu hoch, habe auch alle möglichen Belüftungen probiert während der Fahrt, ist einfach immer laut
Gewicht ist ok, Visierwechsel geht in Sekunden, insgesamt bin ich echt zufrieden

Passform ist sehr gut.
Die laut stärke während des fahren ab 80 km/h Wirt es sehr laut. Es kommt ab 100 km/h ein leichtest Pfeifen hin zu! Die Verarbeitung ist top von HJC
