This jacket provides excellent protection with its CE level 2 protectors all around and leather patches on shoulders & elbows. It is suited for mid-season and winter rides (possibly combined with an additional thermo-liner in very cold circumstances) due to the sturdy fabric and waterproof membrane. But it also serves as an airy summer jacket - when the solto-TEX liner is removed - thanks to the multitude of ventilation options. The large ventilation panels on the front and back provide sufficient air flow during warmer days and the zippers in the sleeves cool the arms when opened. There is a multitude of pockets at hand and there are some nifty little options I haven't seen with other brands, yet.
This really is my go-to jacket for longer travels on which one can expect a variety of weather conditions, from hot and dry to cold and wet. This jacket can handle it all.
It is a comfortable vest to wear, either with or without liner and extra's underneath. A bit stiff due to the leather parts but that'll undoubtedly soften over time (as leather usually does). Additionally, I finally have a jacket that is long enough on the torso and the arms. I am 1m87 tall and chose the XL size. The back side reaches all the way down against the saddle, when in riding position, covering my lower back completely. Moreover, the sleeves are long enough to reach to my wrists (which is rather unusual for me).
Negative remarks? Not really (more like trade-offs, actually). - This is a heavy vest, because of the sturdy construction but isn't that always the case with (good) protective motorcycle gear? - The waterproof liner takes some work to get out (or in) because of the many attachment points but this also means it stays in place well and doesn't shift around while riding.
But these minor inconveniences don't make it any less of a practical, qualitative multi-purpose piece of riding gear. After having had a plethora of riding jackets over the years, I think I found one I will use and enjoy for a long time to come.
We want everything to fit right . Take some quick measurements if you are unsure of your current clothes size. The most accurate measurements will be those you take in your underwear, applying the measuring tape directly to your body.
