I really wanted to like this product as it's the only under layer I can find that is abrasion resistant and offered impact protection. They do fit inconspicuously under jeans and seem well made. I'm glad to say I haven't fallen off wearing them so can't speak to how well the protection works but the pads are pretty thin (I'd guess less than CE1 rated?) so while better than nothing I'm not super confident they would help that much in a high speed crash and I would rather they were a bit thicker. The knee pads also aren't shaped (they're just a flat bit of D3O foam) so I find when they're pulled tight over my knees when on the bike they become pretty uncomfortable, especially if you're riding for more than a couple of hours. I ride a Honda Hornet, so the riding position isn't that cramped but I imagine this problem would be less of an issue if you have a Harley and would become worse on a superbike!

Ich bin 197 cm groß, 95-100 kg schwer und habe mich sehr auf diese Hose gefreut. Leider passen meine Knieschützer nicht, weil meine Hosen kurz sind. Die Knieschützer sollten 5-7 cm tiefer sein, um an der richtigen Stelle zu sein. Knieschützer würden es auch verdienen, wenn sie etwas größer und leicht geformt wären. Wenn Icon Hosen in 3XL-Größe mit größeren Knieschützern herstellen würde, die ein paar Zentimeter nach unten verschoben würden, würde ich vor Glück grunzen, aber leider stellt Icon sie nicht in dieser Größe her. Ich bin traurig, ein gutes Produkt zu sehen, das aber nur für eine bestimmte Benutzergruppe geeignet ist.

Sizing is exact, in my experience. The material is stretchable, breathing and comfortable. I seem to forget that I have protection pants on. The fact that you can use your favourite everyday jeans or pants makes casual riding ever so more enjoyable. Great concept of a product. Regarding the level of protection, anyway most products reduce the force of impact to 18KN (CE-1) or 9KN (CE-2) which is to a level which does not protect against fractures at 4KN. So this is more of a piece of mind product like almost all commercial ones, but I believe good abrasion protection, looking at the protectors themselves. For me being more comfortable and have reasonable abrasion protection is a better concept than not being able to have flexibility and good movement.

I use this pants for 3 years already. It is comfortable to wear them under any pants (couldn't find jeans with protection pads which would fit me). When the weather is too hot (over +35) of course it starts to be hot in them. Was driving wearing this pants over 800 rm a day and it was ok. I used them for snowboarding also. When i fell down from more than 2 m height on my back I got just huge bruise and muscle contusion but not a dislocation. So they work well.
