Gerät war gerade aus der Garantie als sich Im Gerät der Akku gelöst hatte damit die Kabel am Akku gerissen sind.
Ein Ersatzakku gibt es auf dem Markt nicht. Tom Tom wollte auch keinen neuen Akku rausrücken und auch nicht verkaufen. Reparatur sollte bei Tom Tom 150 Euro kosten.
Das nenne ich einen total miesen Service und Kunden vergraulen.
Hier habe ich eine Megaschlechte Erfahrung mit TomTom gemacht. Aber es gibt noch Akkureparatur Services im Internet, die für 35 Euro neue Zellen eingeleitet haben.

Hier wäre Seitens Tom Tom Kulanz angebracht gewesen. Dass der Akku nicht richtig verklebt war ist meiner Meinung nach ein Fabrikationsfehler.

Und wenn es möglich wäre Minussterne zu geben, dann würde ich diese jetzt vergeben.

Tom Tom, da habt ihr echt ganz mies abgeschnitten!

Abschlusskabel dürfte dicker und auch länger sein.Abschluss an werkseitigen Stecker hinten an der Honda AT wird nicht erreicht.Sonst passt alles

Très bon produit
Utilisé essentiellement en moto, c'est très facile d'utilisation notamment pour créer des itinéraires à télécharger en Wifi sur le GPS. Le recalcul lors du suivi d'un itinéraire est très rapide. Je trouve la pochette de transport un peu légère en terme de qualité de protection du GPS.

Navi Rider Freecom 4 sehr gut
Das Freerider 4 ist einfach zu bedienen, die Funktionen ausreichend ohne Spielereien.

Einschränkung darum nur 4 Sterne, die Hotline von Cardo ist Katastrophal, man bekommt keine Nachricht auf Mails, auch Reparaturen dauen etwas zu lange.

Schade das sich ein so gutes Unternehmen in dieser Sache Ihren Namen kaputt macht und seine Kunden aufs gröbste verärgert, ich bin sehr enttäuscht.

Bei der Naviaufnahme- Motorhalterung wo der Spannungsconverter 12/24V auf 5V sind immer Unterbrechungen, so dass das Display immer zwischendurch immer wieder aus geht, aber beim Auto mit dem Steckermodul 12V auf 5V dies nicht auf tritt.

Die Software MyDrive tät einer Überarbeitung auch nicht schaden, etwas Optimierung in Bezug Datensicherung über Karte und Import und Export zum Gerät (Navi)

Bin gespannt ob dies bei TomTom ankommt

Far too complicated. Steer clear unless you can commit the complete instruction manual to memory or want to keep referring to it while out riding. Have been in touch with TomTom support as the RAM mount won’t charge the TomTom device. Have checked and rechecked connections. Waiting for Support to get back to me but checking chat rooms it seems to be a common complaint. The plug connector doesn’t fill me with confidence and I doubt very much that it is waterproof. TomTom just supply you with the RAM unit and a cable with bare tails. No instructions, connectors, nothing. Very poor for top of range unit.
Personally, would recommend avoiding this product. Definitely not worth the money.

Lo he instalado en una BMW R1200RT y todo correcto, he cogido el pack que trae el acople con llave antirrobo... y este si es el que me ha dado problemas... no puedo girar el sentido del navegador de Horizontal a Vertical. Una pena porque con la cúpula de la moto en posición baja lo debo tener en horizontal... y cuando se va en carretara que se sube la cúpula, el sentido de poder girar en marcha el navegador y no poder es un poco frustante. por lo demás aconsejo el Navegador... se actualiza super fácil con wifi, y el bluetooth funciona muy bien.

Aún no he probado lo de poner rutas con muchas curvas ... solo lo he utilizado en viaje a Alpes... y la verdad es que funcionó genial... En Francia no marca los radares (pero sí te avisa de carretar con peligro) con lo cual perfecto.

Das TomTom selbst ist ein gutes Navigationssystem.
Jedoch die Halterung ist nicht so gut, musste einiges selbst anbringen/ändern, damit alles stabil war.

Bought to replace garmin sat nav. Very simple to set up, mountings very flexible. Used a couple of times so far, good clear instructions, good screen layout, screen visible in sunny conditions without needing a shade, quick recalculation when needed. Would recommend.

Ich bin froh das ich disen Tomtom Rider erworben habe und bin mir sehr sicher das ich lange zeit spass an diesem Geraet haben werde. Einfach eine klasse für sich macht fast alles um mir meine Motarrad touren zu vereinfachen. Kann ich nur jedem empfehlen.
Ich hatte ja schon ein TomTom. Aber das NEUE ist bedeutend schlechter als mein altes! Ich frage mich wie kann das mit neur Technologie so sein??
Es ist es sehr Kompliziert eine Route zu planen. Mit zwischen -Stops wirds noch viel schwieriger, oder man kriegt es gar nich hin.
Dann hat die Karte Schweiz ziemlich viele Fehler drin.
Zusätzlich noch die Geschwindigkeit auf Autobahnstücken, die noch nie eine andere Geschwindigkeit als 120 hatte, wird mit 100 angegeben!!
Ich bin mit dem Neuen TomTom sehr entteuscht.

El producto es totalmente correcto y recomendable.
La experiencia de compra perfecto. Entrega perfecta y en plazo. el producto de todo lo que he probado en GPS es lo mejor, sirviendo tanto para la moto como el coche. Visibilidad de pantalla muy buena y autonomía también. He pasado de un Rider 400 a este, y por las actualizaciones sin PC es muy cómodo. Muy recomendable.
Be great once I get it fully connected
I had problems getting the device to pair with my iPhone8. After much communication with TomTom and a lot of trial and error I did manage to connect the device to my phone. But this is only part of the problem. I use an Autocom system on my bike so I then had to purchase a Bluetooth Module from Autocom to complete the pairing process and allow me to hear sound through my headset. Again I had some initial problems getting the unit to pair with the module but again after some attempts is successfully paired...great!
Sadly, when I tried the system the next time day, the unit would no longer pair with the BT module! Grrrrrr!!
After contact with my Autocom dealer, it was agreed I should return the BT module to have it checked so here I am a month after receipt of the Rider 550 still without any sound. Very frustrating. Whose responsible? TomTom or Autocom? Who knows? But TomTom don't seem to recognise that Autocom are one of the largest motorcycle comms systems suppliers which doesn't help.

Easy to plan routes and to change on the fly...

I have read some stupid reviews here and if you are able properly mount and power the unit, then usage is very easy.
WiFi works excellent, pairing with iphone and Sena also easy.
Used over 10.000km and it works fine, also on the fly when you need hot changes. You can work with gpx tracks, with app, with new routes etc.
Navigation is fast, recalculation or changes too. After 30.000km with Zumo595 is this excellent switch to better GPS unit. (my usual trip is 2500-3500km). For me better choice than slow Garmins.
Used in strong sunny days, in heavy rain and storms, still no problems, always do very good job.
Bigger screen will be welcome, but still good.

Первый опыт работы с Том-Том, и приятно удивлен. До этого навигатора пользовался Гармином. На Том-Том быстрая реакция и четкий на касания и просмотр тачскрин. Пока не могу сказать о навигации в больших городах(не заезжал), но на Гармине это проблема.

Wszystko ok, nawigacja działa i prowadzi jak należy. Współpracuje bez problemu z interkomem interphone tour.
Widoczność w słońcu dobra.
Uchwyt jest bardzo stabilny i wydaje się być solidny. System ładowania baterii bardzo dobrze jest rozwiązany.


Szkoda, że nie informuje, że w jakimś kraju nie wolno używać ostrzegania o fotoradarach.
Przy wchodzeniu w zakręt nawigacja zmienia orientację wyświetlania ekranu, mam nawigację w pozycji pionowej, a nawigacja zmieni wyświetlanie ekranu na poziomy.

This is a solid product with lots of different mounting options. The case is ideal for weather and the anti theft option is good apart from the swing over arm which in my opinion is poorly designed. As for the operating instruction very bad unclear and not easy to follow or use. Should be far more simple operating instructions and a far easier programming system.

I preferred tomtom because is very simple to use and its not complicated like others. On motorcycle its perfect good visibility during day and even in night. The rest of it its great.

Très bien sur route mais impossible d'ouvrir un fichier de trace (.gpx) importé malgré les préconisations techniques et la publicité. Tom Tom a été incapable de me dépanner. Je me dirige vers garmin !

Die Routenberechnung ist schnell und flüssig. Leider sind einige Tools zum Bearbeiten vorhandener/geladener Touren (die man vom alten Rider kennt) nicht mehr im Menu. Alles wird am Besten über die App oder ein Routenplanungstool am Rechner erledigt. Soweit so gut, bedeutet aber, dass im Urlaub min. ein Tablet mitgeführt werden sollte

Das TomTom Rider 550 entspricht voll den Anforderungen eines Navigationssystem. Navi ist einfach zu bedienen, logisch und Dank der Updates immer auf dem neusten Stand ist.
Gutes Produkt
Ich habe jetzt für 2 Motorradtouren dieses Navi genutzt (ja ca 300km). Das integrierte WiFi und die Vorlese Funktionen sind ein sehr schönes Gadget, allerdings ist es ärgerlich wenn man eine Stimme nicht herunterladen möchte aber diese Meldung bei jedem Start wieder kommt. Die Navigation und Zielführung haben sonst sehr gut funktioniert, auch das koppeln mit meinen Headset am Helm ging sehr einfach von der Hand. Die Routenempfehlungen weltweit sind auch ein schönes PLUS, da hätte ich mir gerne gewünscht das man hier auf die Landessprache Einstellen könnte. Alle Texte sind hier leider auf Englisch. Grob gesagt es hat kleine Schwächen aber ich würde es mir sofort wieder kaufen.
Not that great ... average at best.
The first thing you notice is the sat nav cannot be used as a general map whilst riding, you MUST create a journey. The so called biker stops and hotels cannot be searched for unless you create a route and then they appear only on that route!
Finally when you create a route using the 'thrill' ride it must be for a journey of 600 miles or less, I purchased it specifically for a Eurotour. Overall its expensive and in my opinion not worth half the cost as an unknown brand offers the same.
Very Good Sat Nav
The Tom Tom 550 World Premium Sat Nav itself is a good piece of kit and it is simple to use, which at the great discounted price is a bargain when compared to the top Garmin motorcycle Sat Navs. The premium kit covers just about all you would need to set it up on your bike and with the car mount supplied I use it in my car as well.
I have two points to make though, one being that my smartphone (Windows) does not seem to be supported with the notifications function to the Sat Nav screen and the other more importantly, is the rather disappointing MyDrive route planning programme. Basically, Tom Tom should just look at Google Maps again (it does look very similar to Google Maps) and make it is as simple to use as Google Maps is. MyDrive is so difficult to plot a route accurately and takes considerably longer than it should, making for a very frustrating procedure. This really lets down what could so easily be not only the best Sat Nav package but the best overall value for money motorcycle Sat Nav on the market.
Das Gerät ist im Vergleich zu meinen früheren Gerät Rider 400 sehr gut.
Ich hatte zuvor das Rider 400. Mit diesem Gerät war ich auch zufrieden, bis es undicht wurde. Bei Starkregen auf Sardinien hat es sich dann verabschiedet. Die Fa. TomTom hätte das Gerät für 130 € repariert, war natürlich auch schon sechs Jahre alt. Ich habe es dann vorgezogen das Rider 550 zu kaufen. Ich glaube, das war eine gute Entscheidung, weil dieses doch deutlich besser ist. Bedienungsanleitung wäre nicht schlecht. Es ist aber sehr übersichtlich in der Bedienung, besonders, wenn man schon mal ein Rider hatte.

Good device but it does not work with any iOS newer than 13
The device works fine as an offline navigation (which should be a lot cheaper) as the bluetooth pairing does not work with any iPhone running iOS newer than 13 (which is more than one year old now). So if you are in this situation I suggest you go for another device that can provide all the advertised functionalities. TomTom has not fixed this issue since 2019.
Nice bike sat nav
Bought this as been wanting a dedicated bike sat nav for some while and FC Moto had it at a good price, with an extra discount. Arrived, after a delay with stock, but 2 nuts missing from handlebar fixing kit. TomTom did not want to sort and FC Moto did not have the bits to send out. I did manage to source them myself and received a credit from FC Moto. Good customer service. The instructions for fixing the item are not brilliant and there is nothing to assist with the hardwiring in of it, even though all the kit is there. I have had to rely on doing my own research on the internet. TomTom could assist with this by producing their own video. The unit took some pairing up with my comms and phone. There is a correct sequence that has to be followed otherwise it does not work correctly as you would want. Now all sorted and happy with it.
