This negative rating has mothing to do with FC-Moto as their service is superb. This is the 2nd X.Com Pro 3 unit that I have purchased. The 1st one I sent back from New Zealand, along with my Nexx X Wed 3 helmet (which needed repairing). If I could find an alternative comms unit that fits the x wed 3 helmet i would buy it before i touch an x com 3 pro but unfortunately that isn't an option. Problems: 1.equalizer doesn't work (no bass boost) meaning every piece of music is tinny as though treble is set at maximum. 2. Mesh connectivity and comms is very poor with our other Shoei sena mesh comms. 3. Max volume is terrible (not loud enough), with the result that the wind/road noise in the helmet is appalling. I have taken to wearing earplugs as the comms unit is so poor. This product is built by Nexx & they have have not made any effort to upgrade the product from customer complaints through regular firmware releases. I feel that I have been a guinea pig testing this unit and paying a lot of money for the privilege.

I sent my unit back to FC-Moto, from New Zealand, and got a refund. Pros: installation was a breeze and it fits the Nexx helmet well. Music sound was good albeit a little tinny. Integrated easily enough into my Sena app and my BMW bike system. Voice commands adequate.
Cons: my partner is using an SRL Mesh unit installed in a Neotec 3 helmet and she could not hear me when I was using X-Com 3 pro (I could barely hear her), so mesh comms did not work properly. At or above 80kmh major noise interference like a bag of chips being rustled which stopped all functionality.
There is a LOT more code devlopment required on this product to make it worth the hefty price tag. I feel as though I have been a Beta user and being charged a premium for the privilege of identifying issues with the product. Not good Nexx - sort it out!

Why this awful headset isn't worth the money: Problems connecting to the phone, doesn't always connect to the phone after turning it on. No native voice control, voice control via Google or Siri works with difficulty. Periodically loses connection with the phone (different phones checked). Sound quality leaves much to be desired. Counterintuitive operation. Many features require the use of an app on your phone to enable them. Uncomfortable to use while riding.
