The new Bell Star is more than an evolution of its predecessor. It’s a complete rethinking of what a race helmet should be, driven by the essential needs of the modern racer.
I’ve had two Bell Star helmets and they both squeak like mad. The styrofoam lining moves around inside the shell and it’s quite a loud sound inside. Also, the visor can be full open, closed, or opened just a crack. There’s no mid point adjustment, which would be nice to have in city traffic.
On the plus side, this helmet is both Snell certified and gets top marks in Sharp testing. It does a decent job of reducing wind noise on the highway and flows ample air. The lining is comfortable.

The helmet has awesome fit for me.I have a 56cm head perimeter and i use Small size.Fits to intermediate to long oval shapes, not for round oval.It is a bit noisy, but i use ear plugs so that is not a problem for me.It also has a very good ventilation, perfect for summer weather.In the winter you need wind protection around your neck and chin.
We want everything to fit right . Take some quick measurements if you are unsure of your current clothes size. The most accurate measurements will be those you take in your underwear, applying the measuring tape directly to your body.
