Die Geschichte der Firma Belstaff in Edinburgh reicht zurück bis zur ersten Tourist Trophy auf der Isle of Man im Jahre 1907. Im Laufe der Jahrzehnte wurden hier zweckmäßige Motorradjacken entwickelt und gefertigt und ständig verbessert. Schließlich wurde Belstaff durch einen italienischen Konzern aufgekauft. Was nicht unbedingt schlecht sein muß - vor allem in Hinblick auf Qualität und Design. Der Chefdesigner kommt von Burberry, was sich nicht zuletzt am Karomuster des Innenfutters erkennen läßt. Das klassische Design und die Zweckmäßigkeit der Ausstattung ist geblieben. Wenn auch die Taschen zu klein sind für eine deutsche Brieftaschen mit dem alten Führerschein im Format DIN A6. Qualität und Verarbeitung sind vorbildlich. Protektoren an Schultern und Ellbogen sind selbstverständlich und stören kaum. Ein Rückenprotektor ist nicht vorgesehen. Die Passform ist exzellent und die Jacke sitzt wie angegossen. Wer Rennen fahren will, für den ist sicher eine Kombi von z.B. Alpinestars besser geeignet. Diese Jacke ist eher für den distinguierten Gentlemen einer Triumph Bonneville o. ä. ideal. Sieht martialisch aus, hat Stil... und auch ihren Preis. Den ich jederzeit für diese Jacke wieder ausgeben würde. Ehrlich.
