BikerAdd Helmet Visor Glasses

Made of plastic, the reading glasses lenses have a shape specially ground for a motorcycle visor, which guarantee an optimal viewing angle. They are glued with transparent special seals from the inside down into the visor, so that the field of vision for motorcycling is not impaired. This seal creates a cavity between the lens and the visor so that the reading area does not fog up. Furthermore, a mounting template is supplied to adjust the lenses. The optical center of the lenses is calculated on the distance between eyes and visor.

• General:
  • According to research at TÜV-Bayern, ECE 22/05 does not expire when using the reading aid, because the lenses are made of plastic and the seal does not harden. Please note that only the clear visors are not subject to any restriction, tinted or mirrored visors may only be used in daylight. Should the ECE 22/05 nevertheless be affected by this, we would like to expressly point out.
• Visual strength:
  • Order 0.5 diopters less than your reading glasses, if they are then possibly still too strong (you notice when you have to get closer with the helmet / head to be able to read) we exchange the lenses of course. It also depends on how far away on your motorcycle the navigation system or maps are. The distance from the eye to the visor (approx. 6-7 cm) reduces the diopter strength.
• Use with Pinlock visors:
  • The lenses are glued from the inside down on the Pinlock. The lenses are each 2.5 x 5 cm, so together 10 cm wide and 2.5 cm high. With most Schuberth and also Shoei helmets with Pinlock, the reading aid works without problems. Tip: Stick strips of tape on the outside of the visor and mark the spot with the dimensions given above, put on the helmet and try whether the lenses are not too high and possibly interfere with the field of vision while driving (visor also sometimes open one or two notches - because of fresh air).
• New gasket:
  • You have a new helmet or a new visor? To remove the lenses from the visor, simply pull off the lenses - however, this will break the seal, but the sealing material can be pulled off without leaving any residue. We would like to send a new adhesive seal, but BikerAdd has a device for mounting the seal, in which the seal is sucked with negative pressure and in this device the lenses are pre-mounted. Send the lenses to BikerAdd and enclose 5,- Euro (outside Germany please 10,- Euro). There they will mount the new seal and send you the reading aid back by return of post - of course, mounting template and cleaning cloth are included.
