Excellent helmet (11.01.2024)

This helmet feels luxurious and exudes technical acumen. It very light, has great fit and finish, and is VERY quiet. The high quality components have excellent tactile feel. Good visibility. I am a fan of the integrated SC2. Nicest helmet I’ve owned. It’s so nice I hesitate in making it my daily rider. 😆

Have 3 pieces of C4Pro Carbon (Delta, Limited Edition Gold & Magnitudo) when I bought this Schuberth C5 Carbon. Note: I sold 2 pieces of Neotec 2. This C5 has as heaps of airflow, same as the Neotec 2, which is good. The C4Pro Carbon has much lesser airflow. The visor memory feature on the C5 is nice but in real life it matters very little. The C4Pro Carbon’s shape is sharper, like a F1 helmet, and hence nicer, in my opinion. The C5 is rounder, like a basketball, same look and feel as a Neotec 2. At speed ~ 200kmh (on a naked Ducati X Diavel S), the C4Pro Carbon stays planted, fantastic! At this speed, both the C5 and Neotec 2 ‘float’, putting pressure on the throat and neck, not good. Other than this ‘floating’ effect, the C5 is better than the C4Pro in almost all aspects, save for the shape which is a matter of preference. I’m keeping all 4 Schuberth (3 C4Pro Carbon and C5 Carbon). They are all fantastic. And no Neotec 2, due to its heavy weight, its ratchet hurting the adam’s apple, and the ‘floating’ effect at speed. I’m scrolling for my 4th C4Pro from FC MOTO.

I initially ordered an E2 which was possibly the heaviest helmet I have had. The C5 Carbon was just releasing, so I took a chance. First reaction: this is an amazing helmet. Fit: seems slightly rounder than my fit in my other Schuberth and the recent E2 I tried, but not uncomfortable. I went with my normal size I wear in Arai, Shoei and Schuberth. It's definitely expensive, but already extremely happy I took a chance ordering this.
